Day 3: Pokhara to Tikhedunga - We drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1 ½ hours) via private auto. The trek will
actually begin in Nayapul. From Nayapul, we have a short walk up the Modi Khola (River) to the large village of
Birethanti where there are many shops and teahouses. The term "khola" means "river", in the Nepali Language.
After passing through the village, the trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille, and after the short climb,
we reach Tikhedhunga at 1525 m. This trek offers a short and relatively easy day during the journey and allows us
to become accustomed to the experience of trekking in Nepal.
Day 4: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani - Leaving Tikhedhunga, the trail drops down to the Bhurungi Khola and then
crosses the bridge. The trail then begins a steep climb to Ulleri, culminating with a very steep climb up a stone
staircase to the village. Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2070 m. There the trail continues to ascend more gently,
through forests of oak and rhododendron towards Banthanti at 2250 m. We continue on the trail towards
Nangethanti at 2460 m. Another 1 ½ hours of trekking brings us to Ghorepani where we will stay overnight.
Day 5: Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Ghorepani to Tadopani - We will get up early in the morning and trek to Poon Hill
to view the incredible sunrise. From here you will have a superb view of the sunrise, and a panoramic view of
Himalayan Mountains, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and so on. After visiting Poon Hill, we
will go back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast, pack, and continue walking to Tadapani. From here the hills are
extensively terraced as we descend down to the Ghar Khola. The trail crosses the Ghar Khola on a suspension
bridge and then climb up above the mighty Kali Gandaki Khola. Turning north on the trail, we soon reached
Tadopani where will stay overnight. There is a great natural hot spring on the bank of the Kali Ghandaki Khola
(make sure to bring a bathing suite). Tatopani means 'hot water' in Nepali and the village gains its name from the
Day 6: Tadopani to Ghandruk - Comparatively speaking, today is the easiest days of the entire trek. We will pass
through rhododendron and oak forests where we will hear many birds chirping as we trek along the path. In fact,
this is one of the best treks for bird lovers. Ghandruk is a very large Gurung village and there is a handicraft center
and Gurung museum. We are proud that Ghandruk village is listed as a World Heritage Site and a Gurung Cultural
program may be available if you desire. From this village we will be able to have good views of Annapurna South,
Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and Annapurna III. We will stay overnight at Ghandruk.
Day 7: Ghandruk to Pokhara - Today we will enjoy a downhill walk through forests and villages for about 4 hours
until we reach Nayapul. From here we will catch the back to Pokhara, a trip requiring about 1 hour. We will enjoy a
shower and stay overnight, and relax on this unique lakeside town enjoying the memories of our trek.
